Merry Little Batman

In December 2023 Digital Media Management launched Merry Little Batman for Amazon Prime Video, a fun holiday movie about a young Damian Wayne who wants to be a superhero just like his dad, Bruce (spoiler alert: Bruce Wayne is Batman). We developed illustrated assets, video edits, motion pieces, as well as an AR filter for TikTok.

On this project I served as art director and worked closely with the Senior Creative Director to oversee all of the creative, from the pitch through the end of the campaign. I was responsible for developing a visual approach and overall creative strategy for the campaign, creating a style guide for designers, and working closely with the creative team to make sure everything aligned with the overall creative vision. This campaign also required extensive custom illustrated elements, so I also developed an illustration style that our designers used when creating the illustrations. As an illustrator myself, I was able to be very hands-on with establishing the style and helped create some of the illustrated assets used in the finished pieces.

A teaser stunt released ahead of the official trailer launch. This was a quick turnaround asset, so I was responsible for storyboarding the asset as well as creating the illustrations used for the animation.

Bat-Kid Cosplay

A really fun piece, showing how to construct your very own Batman mask, styled by Damian at the beginning of the movie.

This piece showcases a lot of the creative development I was responsible for this campaign: custom illustrated elements like the snowflakes and bat symbols, custom type styling in line with the Merry Little Batman type treatment, and a style for the illustrated elements. The final piece was created by DMM designers Mary Delioussina and Dodge Williams.
